Doctoral Candidates

Each doctoral candidate and his/her dissertation will be announced by the director of the doctoral program on stage, and their photos will be taken. Doctoral candidates will return to their seats on stage after being hooded.

EMBA/FEMBA/MBA Candidates

Ushers will indicate to all graduates when to stand and when to walk towards the stage. Names will be called from both the left and right sides of the stage. Each graduate will first be photographed near the base of the steps leading to the stage.

After your initial photo has been taken, proceed to the stage and hand your reader card to the name reader on your side of the stage (please do not stop to shake the name reader’s hand). Your name will be announced as you walk towards center stage where you will accept a certificate commemorating the day from either Dean Bernardo or the commencement speaker (depending on which side of the stage you are located). Shake hands with the one who is stationed on your side of the stage and pause briefly for another photograph then descend the center stage staircase and return to your seat. To avoid a back-up of graduates on stage, continue walking as you are being photographed.

Parking & Directions

Driving Directions to UCLA Anderson

Students and guests attending the 2024 Commencement ceremonies can buy parking permits online through the Bruin ePermit Event Parking Portal starting May 1. Parking permits cannot be refunded or transferred, as your license plate serves as your parking permit.

Visitors can also use self-service pay station machines or the ParkMobile app. If using ParkMobile, select Zone 2525. To skip long lines at the self-service pay stations on campus, we recommend purchasing your parking permit online ahead of attending the Commencement ceremonies.

We recommend parking in Lots 4, 7 and 8, the closest lots to the ceremony. Commencement parking spaces fill up quickly in the parking structures. Vehicles are parked on a first come, first served basis. Plan your commute accordingly and arrive to campus at least 30 minutes before the start of your ceremony. You may be redirected to an alternate parking area, in which case no additional permit is needed.

Accessible Parking (ADA)

All customers must purchase a valid parking permit to park on campus. With a valid UCLA permit and displayed DP Placard or DP License Plate, you may park in all campus parking spaces according to your needs including stalls reserved for Blue and X Permits. However, please avoid parking in loading zones, red curbs, gated parking structures, stalls marked “University Vehicles Only”, and areas not specifically designated as parking stalls.
