Global Experience

UCLA Anderson students can study abroad through the International Business Residential, the Global Immersion Program, and the International Exchange Elective Program and through The Asia Perspective. Our MBA students expand connections with global organizations, participate in global conferences, connect with our global alumni community and generally broaden their knowledge and understanding of international cultures and markets.

Each year there are three distinctly different countries for the Executive MBA students to choose from for their travels, with destinations in Asia, South America, and Europe. While in the country, you will participate in company and cultural visits, plus hear from and network with business professionals, government leaders, faculty at local universities, and local Anderson alumni. Your EMBA fees cover program fees, course materials, lodging, and some meals. Airfare is not included.

Global Immersion Elective

The Global Immersion program provides you the opportunity to expand your network by traveling alongside full-time MBA and FEMBA students. Each trip aligns with a theme that relates to the business economy of the country you visit. Global Immersion trips typically take place during winter, spring and summer during intersession breaks.

International Exchange Elective

UCLA Anderson’s International Exchange Program lets you take one-week classes at distinguished partner universities worldwide, with a variety of subjects to choose from. While earning credits toward your MBA, you will learn alongside and network with local business students and become immersed in the culture of the destination country. These courses are offered during the summer. Spaces are limited; therefore, participation in the exchange program is not guaranteed.

The Asia Perspective

The Asia Perspective gives you the chance to join the UCLA-NUS EMBA program for two classes led by UCLA Anderson faculty during a one-week session in Mumbai, India. Participating in this option will provide a unique opportunity to network with our UCLA-NUS EMBA students, whose professional profiles are very similar to our UCLA EMBA students, but who live, work or have a particular interest in Asia. Furthermore, the course content, which includes an in-country company visit, will feature discussions about business in Asia.

“Choosing to focus on the global management certificate was one of the best parts of my UCLA Anderson education. I went on two global immersions to Asia, took courses on campus and attended many of the global conferences, policy forums and speaker events that the Center for Global Management offered. Through the knowledge and experiences I gained, I significantly improved my approach to doing international business and found that I have been able to take many of the issues and frameworks I learned and apply them to my work at Boeing.”
