Gary Fraser
Associate Dean, Full-Time MBA Program
Dr. Gary Fraser is currently Associate Dean of the Full Time MBA Program at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles, where he is responsible for admissions, academic affairs, career services and student affairs for all full time MBA students at UCLA Anderson. Most recently (2019-22), he served as Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at New York University's Stern School of Business. Before returning to NYU Stern in January 2019, Dr. Fraser was Assistant Dean of Full Time Student Affairs at the UCLA Anderson School of Management where he taught a course entitled Real World Challenges Leaders Face and developed and taught Leadership Development at Anderson. Prior to his time at UCLA, Dr. Fraser was an Assistant Dean at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and began his career in higher education at NYU Stern where he served as Assistant Dean of the Office of Career Development and then Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Dean of Students.
In addition to working in Higher Education, Dr. Fraser held positions in brand management at the Hanes Corporation, the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group, and Mondelez International. In 2011, he received his Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. His dissertation was entitled: A Case Study in Leadership Development at Select U.S. Graduate Business Schools. Dr. Fraser received his MBA from NYU Stern, where he served as President of the Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students, was the recipient of New York University's President's Service Award, and was selected as the student speaker at his NYU Stern graduation ceremonies. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University, where he was named captain of the Intercollegiate Debate Team.
Dr. Fraser remains an adjunct professor at NYU Stern teaches Leading Inclusive Teams, a course he created for NYU Stern's Executive MBA Program, and Professional Responsibility to current full and part time MBA students. He also teaches a module in the NYU Stern Executive Education Certificate course Leadership for the 21st Century. He has worked with Credit Suisse, UBS, TIAA, Harvard Business Publishing, Pearson Education and other organizations on developing leaders and more effectively embracing diversity for better organizational outcomes. Dr. Fraser is the founding board chair of Collegiate Charter High School of Los Angeles and has previously served on the board for the Los Angeles chapter of Minds Matter and Forte'- a national organization dedicated to the educational advancement of women interested in business careers. He currently is on the board of Lime Connect, an organization dedicated to the professional advancement of individuals with disabilities.
